MTV Overdrive promo

MTV Overdrive was a free broadband video channel brought to you by MTV.com. It was the basis for MTV Networks dot coms through 2007.

For this first broadband Web portal for MTVN, I worked on the UI and prototype in partnership with MTVN’s Advanced Products team.

Initially, the MTV Overdrive streaming video service supplemented the regular MTV.com website. Shortly after the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards that streamed on MTV.com and heavily used the MTV Overdrive features, MTV transformed MTV.com and their other dot coms into Flash video-based entities similar if not identical to MTV Overdrive.

Additional features included:

• Any show, video or playlist on MTV Overdrive could be shared with friends.
• In order to offer this terrific content free of charge, MTV showed ads to pay for the service.
